Theme 256 – Reflections

Why are the trees upside down?

The surface water throughout New Jersey’s pine barrens is acidic, low in oxygen, and contains large quantities of iron and organic materials.  These characteristics result in dark tea-colored streams that become almost mirror-like on calm, cloudy days.  I took these photos of the the trees’ reflections from a foot bridge passing over a small stream in along the northern edge of the Pine Barrens.
